About Me

A photo of me in Shibuya was taken by my wife.

Hi, I'm Ricky Sandoval, an aspiring software developer with a deep passion for technology and innovation. My background is that I am a novice in programming languages such as Python, Java, and C/C++.  My insight into programming languages and software development started when I attempted to turn a VLC media player into a real-time 60fps media player, as pertained to messing with its C & C++ code while at the time of being a teenager. Now, I am pursuing a bachelor of science degree in software development. Throughout my university courses, I will learn more about software development furthermore, obtaining knowledge and mastering programming languages that can assist in becoming a software developer.

Currently, I'm diving into the dynamic world of the Japanese IT industry, where I'm constantly learning and expanding my skills. My career in software development began out of curiosity and a desire to understand how things work. It's become a career path I'm fully committed to pursuing in another country amid cultural dislocation and the need to be with my wife. At the same time, she resides there, and finding my path to becoming a software developer in Japan.

One of the most exciting aspects of my journey is the intersection of technology and culture. I'm actively studying Japanese, not just to improve my language skills but also to immerse myself in the rich culture that Japan offers as my wife is Japanese, and she has greatly influenced me, sparking my interest in Japanese culture and even how Japan's technology has shaped to be one of the greatest global technology sphere's.

In addition to my professional and linguistic pursuits, I'm a firm believer in lifelong learning. Every day, I make it a point to learn something new: a programming technique, learning about the Japanese IT work field, or a new hobby. I'm driven by the idea that growth comes from continuous effort and curiosity, and I'm excited to see where this mindset will lead me in my career and personal life.
